The store in Moray Way had to shut yesterday (February 26) after a break-in during the early hours of the morning.
Police were called to the store at 1am after an intruder alarm was activated at the premises.
Officers confirmed a break-in, but “all suspects had left” by the time they arrived.
A spokesperson for Co-op said that “fortunately, as the store was closed, no one was hurt during the incident”.
The spokesperson told the Recorder: “We can confirm that an incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning at our Moray Way store.
“We do urge anyone who may have any information to come forward to police, who are investigating.”

Co-op did not confirm whether the store has since reopened.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, a spokesperson for the Met Police said, and no arrests have been made.
The Met spokesperson said: “Police were called at 1am on Wednesday, February 26 to an intruder alarm activation at business premises on Moray Way, Romford.
“Officers attended the location within four minutes and confirmed a break in, all suspects had left the location prior to their arrival.”
