The Irish singer-songwriter has enjoyed a huge year with the release of her Mercury Prize nominated album Euro-Country, and a Glastonbury slot that one critic hailed “a superstar moment”.
She and her Very Sexy CMAT Band will lead a day long musical line up at the LIDO Festival in Victoria Park on Friday June 12.
Other artists on the slate for the day out in Tower Hamlets are Father John Misty, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Elizabeth Copeland, Getdown Services, Katy J Pearson, Junior Brother, and Jacqui McShee’s Pentangle.
Hailing from Dunboyne in Co Meath CMAT – real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson – is loved for her infectious blend of melodic country and indie-pop alongside cleverly crafted, emotionally honest lyrics that tell a story.
This year she has also played Green Man, Primavera and All Points East while releasing singles such as Running/Planning, The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station, and Take A Sexy Picture Of Me aka The Woke Macarena.
In support is Father John Misty aka Josh Tillman, the former drummer of the Fleet Foxes, who brings his tragicomic lyrics and distinctive showmanship to the park’s Lido Field.
It’s the second edition of the sustainable music festival which launched in summer 2025 with a line up of headliners including Massive Attack, Charli XcX, Jamie x.
LIDO hands headliners control of the programming – selecting their favourite artists, collaborators, newly tipped voices each day and adding their own personal style to the artwork and stage design.
CMAT’s choices range from veteran singer, composer and transgender activist Beverly Glenn-Copeland, to Jacqui McShee’s Pentangle, a modern folk band brilliantly blending the traditional and the new.
The 10-day LIDO Festival has previously announced Maribou State as the first of the 2026 headliners on Saturday, June 20 – with more to be revealed.
Tickets for CMAT’s headline show go on general sale on Thursday November 13 at 10am from www.lidofestival.co.uk
