Cherry blossom has always been a symbol of spring in Japan, where it is known as Sakura.
It is a major tourist attraction both in Japan, and now attracts visitors in north London.
Several people have sent in their photos of streets currently glowing with pink petals.
Crouch End local David Winskill managed to capture their splendour in Cecile Park.

He said: “As I was taking these pictures, other photographers were queuing up to take their own.
“This is one of the most spectacular displays and much loved avenue of trees in London.

“The trees are really old, local and people look forward to the blossom appearing each year.”
Tom Hardy said “patience was required” for his picture.

The 27-year-old said: “I captured the beautiful cherry blossom trees in full bloom in Cranley Gardens, Muswell Hill. They were at their best as the sun was setting.”
The broadcast and IT technician added: “In Japan it’s a massive thing in spring time and people go over there to see them but we have our own now.
“As I’ve got older I’ve really come to appreciate them. When they blossom you see people stop and take pictures, there’s a real buzz.
“I like the white ones but the pink ones really stand out but they’re only around for a week or two and then they drop.”
