Age UK Barnet is continuing to distribute the Household Support Fund (HSF) on behalf of Barnet Council.
The support, intended for residents over 55, comes in the form of one-off vouchers for supermarkets, other retailers, and energy vouchers for household bills.
Referrals can be submitted by support workers, housing officers, social prescribers, and individuals themselves.
All applicants must complete a referral form and provide supporting evidence.
Self-referrals can also be filled in electronically here.
The charity has stressed that this is not an emergency fund, and processing can take up to three to four weeks.
Applications are open to those of pensionable age, people over 55 with long-term health conditions, and individuals living in the London Borough of Barnet for at least 12 months.
The fund can help with energy and water bills, food, essentials linked to energy and water, and other short-term needs.
Cash award payments will be limited, and the fund will primarily issue vouchers.
The fund cannot be used for mortgage support, holidays, long-term respite costs, paying off multiple debts, rent or rent arrears, council tax or council tax arrears.
The HSF will be distributed until the end of March 2025.
