‘We are being frozen out of the national conversation.’ Dozens of MPs believe that if she is still in charge next spring there might be very little left.’ Dozens of Tory MPs are warning that if Kemi Badenoch is still leader of the Tory Party by next spring, then there will be very little left of the Conservative Party, fearing the very real possibility of being wiped out. It comes as Badenoch continues to trail Reform in the polls, with the Tories being squeezed out of the national conversation and increasingly appearing irrelevant, while the next election is now being…
It seems surprising that the EU would want Patel’s advice on migration, given she launched the Tories’ disastrous Rwanda plan Tory shadow foreign secretary Priti Patel says she met with European Union officials last month to advise them on migration policy. Patel told The London Economic that she regularly talks with EU leaders, due to her experience as former Home Secretary, as European countries search for strategies to deal with the migration “crisis”. Speaking to The London Economic, she said: “I’ll tell you one issue, migration in Europe. There is a crisis. I told them there’d be a crisis five…
Thirteen members of its team have promoted far-right views and conspiracy theories online The Great British Political Action Committee (PAC) is “packed with extremists”, according to anti-extremism group Hope Not Hate. Formed in September last year, the Great British PAC is inspired by similar right-wing groups in the US that donate large amounts of money to fund candidates and campaigns. Analysis by Hope not Hate has revealed that the involvement of peers, former MPs and councillors “might give GB PAC a veneer of respectability”, several members have promoted far-right views and conspiracy theories online. The GB PAC’s East Midlands Director,…
In May, Reform became the largest party in Warwickshire, forming a minority administration. Another Reform UK councillor has quit. This time the leader of Warwickshire County Council has resigned, leaving his 18-year-old deputy in charge, giving Nigel Farage and his party yet another headache. Reform UK councillor Rob Howard released a short statement in which he said he had made the decision with “much regret”. Cllr Howard said: “This has been a very difficult decision to take. “The role of leader is an extremely demanding role and regretfully my health challenges now prevent me from carrying out the role to…
“I’m embarrassed every week that somebody comes here from their opposition who doesn’t apologise for the mess they left this country in.” Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner took apart Tory Mel Stride today at PMQs, after yet another Tory filling in for Kemi Badenoch failed at the despatch box. Rayner was filling in for Keir Starmer who is in the Netherland for a NATO summit with world leaders. Badenoch is yet to actually choose a second-in-command, and has given the honour of standing in for her at PMQs to different Tory frontbenchers, all of whom, much like herself, have struggled…
‘This is just ridiculous nonsense designed to wind people up.’ Zia Yusuf, head of Reform’s Musk-style ‘Doge’ team, has made another claim about council spending without providing proof. This time, he claimed Kent County Council (KCC) spends £100 million a year on staff who work from home. Recently, he said the council was spending taxpayer money on trips to the cinema, bowling and crazy golf. Yusuf provided no proof for these claims. However, it is understood that he was referring to unaccompanied minors in the care system, who sometimes go on trips which are funded by the Home Office. Yusuf…
‘Reform UK doing sweetheart deals with the super-rich is a betrayal of British working people.’ Nigel Farage’s unfunded policies took another bashing at PMQs today, as a Labour MP described his new non-dom tax policy as a “sweetheart deal with the super-rich”. At PMQs, Kanishka Narayan, Labour MP for the Vale of Glamorgan, criticised Reform UK’s plan to reinstate non-dom status and allow the super-rich to avoid paying tax in the UK for a one-off fee of £250,000 every ten years. Labour scrapped non-dom status, which allowed people who live in the UK but have a permanent home abroad to…
In an excruciating interview, a Reform councillor struggled to answer basic questions about his role and admitted that he did not know about his council’s relationship with a key partner. Councillor James Walker-Gurley, a senior cabinet member at Nottinghamshire County Council, with cabinet responsibility for economic development and asset management, struggled to give his views, reading from a script and laughing when asked about issues pertaining to his role during an interview with Notts TV. Like many of Reform’s elected members, when put under scrutiny, they begin to fall apart and don’t have much of a clue about how to…

The Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham has backed the government’s plans to give 16 year olds the right to vote, after fears that the policy had been side-lined. Labour had included in its manifesto a pledge to reduce the voting age from 18 to 16 in UK general elections, however the plans were not included in the King’s speech last year. Nonetheless, Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reassured MPs that the manifesto promise will be implemented by 2029. Commons leader Lucy Powell has previously told the BBC votes for 16 and 17-year-olds remained a commitment, and she hoped they…
