Irish comic Aisling Bea is fronting three events starting with a Food drive and Christmas Party at The Bill Murray in Islington on Saturday. (December 21)
It runs from 3-7pm at the pub and comedy club in Queen’s Head Street and includes mulled wine, a festive choir, and “celebrity Santas” including Father Nishmas.
There’s a list of much-needed tinned items and toiletries to donate to the appeal which benefits the Hackney Food Bank and Trussell Trust. Last year’s event raised more than £17,000 and collected enough for 211 emergency food parcels.
Then on Sunday December 22 at EartH in Stoke Newington there are two shows; one at 3pm featuring Aisling Bea, Sarah Pascoe and Nish Kumar, and a second at 7.30pm with Bea, Kumar and Katherine Ryan.
Both are compered by Angel Comedy MC Barry Ferns with “special surprise guests” promised.
Posting on X the This Way Up writer and comic wrote: ‘WE ARE BACK! SUNDAY DECEMBER 22ND – TWO SHOWS! Myself @mrnishkumar @barryferns on both w/@sarapascoe at 3 & @Kathbum at 730 PLUS surprise guests PLEASE come! Tickets out NOW & already selling fast!’
Comedy shows are bookable via Dice with tickets starting at £20 and additional options to donate.
