Police have been pictured manning a cordon in place on the A23 Streatham Hill this evening (December 14).
It follows an earlier crash involving a bus and a cyclist at around 1.20pm.
Police were dispatched to the scene of the incident after being alerted to the crash and discovered the male cyclist injured.
He has since been taken to hospital where he remains fighting for his life.
The driver of the bus stopped at the scene.
The road closure will continue to impact a number of bus services and it is not yet clear when the road will reopen.
Routes 109, 118, 133, 159, 250 and 333 towards Brixton or Elephant & Castle will be diverted via Drewstead Road, Sternhold Avenue, Thornton Avenue, King’s Avenue and Atkins Road.
Stops from Streatham Hill Station to Christchurch Road are not currently being served.
The 57 buses towards Streatham Hill will finish their service at Mount Ephraim Road on Streatham High Road, and will not be calling at stops from Streatham Hill Station to Atkins Road or New Park Road.
The 59 route will be starting and finishing at Holmewood Road on Brixton Hill.
Stops on Streatham Hill, Christchurch Road and Telford Avenue are not being served.

The 201, towards Herne Hill, is on diversion via Drewstead Road, Sternhold Avenue, Thornton Avenue, King’s Avenue and Streatham Place.
Stops from Streatham Hill Station to Telford Avenue are not being served.
The 417 route towards Clapham is also on diversion via Sternhold Avenue, Thorton Avenue, King’s Avenue and Atkins Road, and won’t be serving stops from Streatham Hill Station to Atkins Road and New Park Road.
