The community tree planting session will take place on Saturday 17 January, from 10am to 1pm.
Motspur Park Football Club has generously donated 40 large oak trees, and Merton Council will plant an additional 550 smaller hedgerow plants.
These will create a new tree belt and hedgerow along an existing tree line across the meadow in the park, enhancing the park for wildlife and the local community.
Everyone is welcome to take part, no matter their level of experience, and can join in for as much time as they wish to contribute.
Participants are advised to wear suitable footwear and to bring their own gloves.
All other necessary tools will be provided by the council.
The nearest entrance and parking facility is available at Hillcross Depot car park.
Staff planting days will take place on Thursday 15 January and Friday 16 January.
The council has suggested contacting them via email for further queries related to the event at parktrees@merton.gov.uk.
