Frank has not always spoken like an elite manager. While Postecoglou largely talked up Spurs at every opportunity, Frank has been far more reserved and it is not helping him get fans on side. When reminded of his summer message that Spurs losing games was one of the few guarantees, Frank said last month: “I promised that, I succeeded.” As promises go, it was not exactly Postecoglou vowing to deliver a trophy.
