Both those wins came on home soil, but Chelsea will not be in familiar surroundings for some time now.
After visiting Elland Road, they will head to the south coast to face Bournemouth before hopping over to Italy for a Champions League bout with Serie A strugglers Atalanta. They host Everton after that, before facing a further pair of away trips to Cardiff and Newcastle.
It is a difficult run at face value, but Maresca will be buoyed by the knowledge that Chelsea have lost only twice in ten away matches this season, against Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
A visit to struggling Leeds, who have lost four on the bounce, should provide an opportunity to continue that streak.
