Hertfordshire Constabulary was called to a fight in Vu Lounge, a Turkish restaurant on Bushey High Street near Watford on November 29.
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.
Dequarn Williams, 25 of Sancroft Close in Cricklewood, has since been charged and remanded in custody following an appearance at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court this morning (December 2).
He will next appear at St Albans Crown Court on January 7 2026.
A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, she has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Lee Martin from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Our investigations are moving at pace, and I am encouraging anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has further information that could assist with our enquiries to come forward.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and there is believed to be no risk to the wider public.
