The divisive British fighter will be desperate to make a statement on his Matchroom Boxing debut as he targets more titles after linking up with Eddie Hearn.
Whittaker, who has held the IBF international light heavyweight championship since June last year, will know he will have to be at his best to topple Gavazi.
The German is on a 19-fight win streak, and picked up WBC International light-heavyweight title last December, but Whittaker is unbeaten in his professional career, making amends for a controversial draw against Liam Cameron by stopping him in their rematch earlier this year.
Now, Whittaker, the 2020 Olympic silver medallist, takes Gavazi for the vacant WBC Silver light heavyweight belt.
