While this is billed as an international friendly, that is rarely ever the case when two rivals meet as bragging rights will be at stake.
The Three Lions find themselves in a great position to book a place at next summer’s tournament having won all five games in Group K so far, leading second-placed Albania by seven points at the halfway stage.
Meanwhile, Wales are currently third in their group but still have to play Belgium and North Macedonia at home which means they are in control of their destiny.

England vs Wales team news
The likes of Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish were all left out of the squad by Tuchel, while Noni Madueke and Tino Livramento are sidelined because of injury.
Bukayo Saka returns to the fold as Elliot Anderson, Djed Spence and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are among those who have been retained from the last camp.
Aaron Ramsey has been forced to withdraw from the Wales squad due to injury, while former Manchester United winger Dan James is also unavailable for selection.
Bellamy, however, can call upon Tottenham’s Brennan Johnson in attack with Karl Darlow, Ben Davies and Harry Wilson among the other Premier League representatives in the Wales squad.

England vs Wales prediction
This is a difficult one to predict especially because Wales’ approach to this fixture is uncertain. While Bellamy will love to record a win over England, he knows the Belgium game is of greater importance.
As a result, he could choose to rest a number of key players in preparation for the World Cup qualifier. This would certainly play into England’s hands as the squad at Tuchel’s disposal highlights the gulf in quality between the two nations.
England will be full of confidence following that 5-0 thrashing of Serbia last month and we expect the Three Lions to come out on top in the battle of Britain.
Head to head (h2h) history and results
England have won the last seven meetings against Wales, including 3-0 triumph’s in the 2022 World Cup group phase and the most recent friendly between the two nations in October 2020.
