Thomas Frank’s side surprised Arsenal with a 1-0 victory over their north London rivals in Hong Kong.
Pape Matar Sarr’s stunner was the difference between the two sides in a game that saw Mikel Arteta hand debuts to Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera off the bench.
As for Spurs, Frank has only one new signing available to him so far – Mohammed Kudus – who put in another solid showing after his move from West Ham.
Newcastle, meanwhile, have bigger problems at home, with Alexander Isak training alone at his former club Real Sociedad as he looks to force through a move to Liverpool.

Tottenham vs Newcastle team news
Frank’s main injury headaches at the moment are around Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie, his first-choice striker and left-back.
Neither featured against Arsenal, with ankle and knee injuries the issues with both respective players.
James Maddison returned to the bench against Arsenal, but new centre-back Kota Takai will still be out for weeks with a plantar fascia problem.
As for Newcastle, besides Isak, they are almost at full complement.
They are lacking go-to left-back Lewis Hall, who is out with an ankle injury, and Sven Botman’s groin played up in the defeat to Arsenal.
He didn’t feature against the J-League XI, where Joe Willock hobbled off.
Tottenham vs Newcastle prediction
Two teams that both feel a little undercooked as the season begins to creep up on them.
Both seriously need to bolster their squads with more signings, and both their managers have emphasised the importance of doing so before the window slams shut.
The pair have missed out on key targets this summer already, and it is imperative that they get some business done before the campaign commences.
As for this game, Spurs will be buoyed by that win over Arsenal, where, on paper, they looked the weaker side.
Newcastle have had a pretty torrid time of it in their preparations for the new term results-wise, and they could struggle again here.
