This game will also be the first that the Reds will play following the tragic passing of their Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, who died in a car crash on Thursday, July 3 in Spain en route back to Merseyside to join up with his team-mates.
It has been revealed that Jota will be commemorated at the friendly encounter at Deepdale.
Liverpool’s ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ anthem will be played, while Preston captain Ben Whiteman will also lay a wreath in Jota’s memory.
Both sets of players will wear black armbands and observe a one-minute silence ahead of the 3pm kick-off.
