Emergency services were called to Middleton Road in Carshalton yesterday (July 4) at around 3pm, to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian.
A woman was treated by paramedics, however she died from her injuries at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and the force are urging anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Around 15:00hrs on Friday, 4 July, police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Middleton Road, Carshalton.
“Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a woman at the scene.
“Sadly, despite the efforts of paramedics, she died from her injuries. Her next-of-kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specially-trained officers.
“No arrests have been made at this stage. Anyone with information that may assist police is urged to call 101, quoting CAD reference 4933/04JUL.”
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 3pm today (4 July) to reports of a road traffic collision in Middleton Road, Carshalton.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene including an ambulance crew and an incident response officer.
“Sadly one patient died at the scene. We checked a second person over and discharged them.”
