Manchester City open their Club World Cup knockout campaign tonight against Al Hilal.

Their confidence will be soaring heading into this round of 16 tie, to be played in the early hours of Tuesday morning for UK viewers.

And Al Hilal will not strike too much fear into the hearts of the eight-time Premier League champions, despite boasting a crop of former Premier League stars in the squad.

Former Man City defender João Cancelo will be reunited with his old club, while Kalidou Koulibaly and Aleksandar Mitrovic will be made to revisit some unpleasant memories of facing City with Chelsea and Fulham, respectively.

City will be without the injured Claudio Echeverri in the tie. He scored his first City goal against Al Ain but picked up an ankle issue in the process and is now set to miss the remainder of the tournament.

Rico Lewis remains suspended for the tie, too.
