PSG are set to continue their Club World Cup group stage campaign as they meet Botafogo in a matchday two clash which will kick off in the small hours of Friday morning for European viewers.

It was a statement opening to a tournament in which they are widely considered to be the favourites, having won a first Champions League title in club history last month.

Botafogo also got off to a winning start, downing the Seattle Sounders 2-1 in their own backyard, the Lumen Field. Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus were the scorers, playing in what could be their final matches for the Estrela Solitária amid links to Nottingham Forest.

Former Manchester United man Alex Telles completed just under 70 minutes of the tie at left-back and will likely feature again in what will be a much tougher test for the Brazilian outfit. Copa America winner Joaquin Correa, formerly of Inter Milan, Sevilla, and Marseille among other European sides, made an appearance off the bench.

The match will be held at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California.
