The ICC Champions Trophy is down to the final four as the semi-finals begin in Pakistan.
Buttler announced he would stand down as captain ahead of the final group-stage match against South Africa, which ended in a heavy seven-wicket defeat.
South Africa progressed as winners of Group A and will face New Zealand in the semi-finals, while India take on Australia in the other last-four clash.
India’s matches are being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after they announced that they would not travel to Pakistan. The two sides played each other early in the tournament, with Virat Kohli inspiring India to a six-wicket triumph.
This is the first edition of the Champions Trophy since 2017, when Pakistan lifted the trophy after beating India in the final at the Oval.
