Jeremy Isaacs CBE, honorary life chair of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, was knighted for services to philanthropy and to children’s hospice care.

In 2015, he had been appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his services to the NHS.

The hospice, based in Byng Road, Barnet accepts referrals of babies, children and young people who live in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Islington and Hertsmere.

Sir Jeremy has been instrumental in its growth since he joined the charity in 2009 as trustee, going on to serve as chair of trustees from 2017 until stepping down in April 2022.

He led the £13.5 million campaign to ‘Build The Ark’, appealing to the construction industry, the health sector, and a series of private and third sector organisations to ask for their help to build a home for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

He found and secured the plot in Barnet where The Ark would finally be opened by London Mayor, Sadiq Khan in September 2019.

The hospice says his leadership has helped transform it from a small, local charity into a role-model for children’s palliative care.

Sir Jeremy said he felt “honoured” to be knighted.

He added: “Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has always been very close to my heart and I’m proud to have been involved in their expansion into a multi award-winning charity.”

Sir Jeremy is also the founder of JRJ Group and Trustee of The J Isaacs Charitable Trust.

He has been a non-executive director of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust from 2003 to 2016, was a member of the British Olympic Advisory Board from 2007 to 2012 and a member of the Bridges Development Fund Advisory Board from 2008 to 2018.

His networking skills have helped spearhead Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice’s growth and since 2009, the charity’s annual income has grown from £600,000 to £7.6 million.

Noah’s Ark CEO Sophie Andrews OBE said: ‘Sir Jeremy Isaacs CBE has had a huge impact on the growth and development of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

“His business acumen, determination and guidance have been vital to our success, and we owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude.”
