47-year-old arrested after man dies in Twickenham stabbing

Police officers were called just after 11.30pm yesterday (April 26) to reports of a man found injured in Ellerman Avenue.

A 38-year-old man was found with stab wounds and died at the scene.

A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

He remains in custody at a south London police station.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “A team of detectives are working to piece together the circumstances that resulted in this tragic incident.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.

“Officers will remain in the area throughout the day as they carry out further enquiries and gather evidence.

“Anyone with concerns or information about what happened should speak to them.”
